Colgate Total has been a long time supporter of the American Diabetes Association by helping us create more awareness about the connection of oral health as it relates to the management of diabetes. Research has shown that those living with diabetes are twice as likely to develop gum disease than those without the disease but with good oral care, they can help take charge of their overall health.
As a National Strategic Partner of the Association, Colgate Total sponsors a variety of community events and programs across the country to educate those affected by diabetes about the importance of taking care of their mouth as part of their diabetes management plan. Those events/programs include: Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, EXPO, Feria de Salud and Project Power.
Also, in honor of National Dental Hygiene Month (Oct) and American Diabetes Month (Nov), Colgate Total will launch a public awareness campaign entitled "Small Steps Make a Big Difference." During this time, Colgate Total will amplify their oral health messaging and promote their alliance with the Association by engaging with Americans through their PR activities and utilizing social media.
The American Diabetes Association thanks Colgate-Total for their continued support in our fight to Stop Diabetes and helping Americans everywhere live an overall healthy lifestyle.
