Ginnie is a two-time USA Outdoor National Champion 100M Hurdler on the track.
Off the track she is dedicated to empowering others to learn more about diabetes awareness and embraces her role as an ambassador for American Diabetes Association.
Although she is a world class athlete, Ginnie knows too well about the harsh realities of how deadly Diabetes can be. In 2009, she lost her older sister to complications related to her diabetes. She was just in her mid 30s at the time of her death.
Earlier this year, Ginnie was selected by USA Track & Field Foundation to be an ambassador for their Run With US! initiative.
Along with other ambassadors, Ginne works with Los Angeles area middle schools in low income communities to teach the students how to eat healthier but more importantly how to incorporate daily exercise into their everyday life as a means to combat the epidemic of Childhood Obesity.
