J. Anthony Brown
Diabetes has always been in J. Anthony Brown's family with both parents and grandmother having the disease, but he didn't take it seriously until he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 15 years ago.
Once Brown was diagnosed, he began to make lifestyle changes by eating healthier, getting rest and better managing his diabetes. This is the same message Brown relays to the public. He understands how hard it is to keep on top of your diabetes, but he ensures that the reward of living a longer life is worth the effort.
Brown, comedian, actor and co-host of The Tom Joyner Morning Show, is excited to be part of the movement to Stop Diabetes® and is committed to helping the public understand the importance of managing their disease. In recognition of his commitment to people living with diabetes, Brown was one of the American Diabetes Association's African American Initiative's Honorees at their Community Spirit Awards dinner.
