For Lil Jon, educating the public about diabetes is a personal mission. To help put the issue of diabetes in the forefront; Lil Jon joined the cast of NBC's All-Star Apprentice and earned $195,000 for his charity of choice: the American Diabetes Association.
Prior to the show, Lil Jon wasn't up to speed about the disease, until his mother had a stroke due to complications of type 2 diabetes and sadly passed away a few months after taping the show. This pushed Lil Jon to educate himself about the disease and its complications. Learning how important prevention of type 2 diabetes and management of the disease is, Lil Jon was armed and ready to get this information out to the public.
Lil Jon, rapper, Grammy Award Winning record producer, entrepreneur and international DJ, continues to work with the American Diabetes Association in the movement to Stop Diabetes® by helping spread awareness about the seriousness of diabetes and its complications. From sending information through social media to his fans/followers to talking about his personal story with the public, volunteers and staff, Lil Jon is continuing to further the movement to one day stopping this deadly disease.
