The Hass Avocado Board, an agriculture promotion group established to promote the consumption of Hass Avocados in the United States, has joined forces with the Association to help increase awareness about the risk factors of diabetes, particularly amongst Hispanics - a community disproportionately impacted by the disease. Through their "Fresh Avocados – Love One Today®" and "Aguacates Frescos – Saborea Uno Hoy®" programs, the Board will work with the Association to elevate their messaging around the nutritional benefits of fresh avocados and the importance of eating healthy to help prevent and/or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. To help accomplish this, new recipes and educational materials will be developed in English and Spanish and distributed through Association channels such as events, social media and diabetes.org.
