Catherines
Catherines®, a chain of more than 480 specialty fashion stores for plus sized women, is a proud supporter of the Stop Diabetes® movement. The company’s support includes raising funds, increasing awareness about the risks of diabetes and providing information to their employee and customer base about how to effectively manage the disease. On the fundraising side: Now through December 25th, Catherines is donating $5.00 from the sale of each specially designed “Generosity Tee” shirt to the American Diabetes Association. During November, Catherines’ customers had the opportunity to “round up” their purchase to the nearest dollar. Results from the campaign are not yet available but in 2011, the campaign raised more than $100,000 to support our outreach programs. When it comes to increasing awareness and providing information, Catherines not only included diabetes messages in their holiday promotional flyers, but they also sent a promotional email with an online coupon to approximately 620,000 customers – reinforcing awareness of American Diabetes Month.
In the company’s headquarter location of Philadelphia, more than 70 Catherines Associates laced up their sneakers and participated in the Association’s signature fundraising campaign, Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes®. The Associate’s raised more than $15,400 through the team efforts.
